This Championship is being organised in line with the IOF General Rules for Trail Orienteering. Copies of these will be available for viewing at registration and can be found on the International Orienteering Federation web site at www.orienteering.org/publications/trailrul.htm; further information on Trail-O can be found at www.trailo.org
The maps have been re-surveyed and drawn for this event at a scale of 1:5000
Trail-O on JK Day 2 will take place in Nine Wells, with parking on hard standing at the Royal Forest of Dean College
Trail-O on JK Day 3 will take place in Worcester Walk with parking on forest roads.
On both days the forest is a mixture of conifers, oak and beech. Both areas show the scars of the Dean's industrial past of lead and coal mining, so there are many pits, spoil heaps, gullies and charcoal burners’ platforms making for an intricate area. The courses use forest roads and tracks. They are mostly level with one or two areas of gentle climb or descent.
On both days there is one ELITE level course
